About Out
History
All of our rescues are rehabilitated for behavioral issues as well as all medical needs taken care of so that they may have the greatest opportunity for success with their new family. If at any time the family decides that the new addition is not working in their family they are able to bring them back to the rescue, we understand life happens & the animal always has a safe place to be returned. I do however strive for life long homes. I keep in contact with all previous adopters to offer support if needed or just to share in the joy that adoption brings to the animals as well as the new families. I’m trusted in the area & have the animals well being and best interests at heart.

Leann
My name is Leann Lawson, I am the founder and president of Leann’s Animal Rescue, a locally run animal rescue group dedicated to serving the greater Indianapolis area and beyond. Always having a passion for animals I decided to open a non for profit animal rescue in the hopes of assisting with the overwhelming population of homeless animals in need. In February of 2014, I officially started this journey and what a journey it has been. In the 10 plus years that we have been in operation, we have been able to rescue and find “Furever” Loving -process approved homes for lots of dogs, cats, little critters and even a pig! We try to assist with any animal in need, if we are able.
The dogs that come into our rescue most times than not are coming from less than humane conditions, shelters, and often require extensive medical care above and beyond the standard spay/neuter procedure, yearly vaccinations and mircochipping. We work along side with the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of Brownsburg to provide economical quality vet care for our animals, as well as a local Animal Hospital in the area. An average cost for an otherwise healthy rescue, depending on size and weight is $200.00 – $275.00. That’s just for the basics.
After covering all of the vet care costs and not charging an adoption fee for the first 86 adoptions, I realized this was not allowing me to rescue to full potential. I now charge a fair fee and appreciate lifelong updates from adopters. I have a network of sponsors, fosters, and volunteers that help, but as always the need is far greater than the resources, so I am beyond thankful for every donation we receive.
